Performance comparison of water Cherenkov detectors with different geometries

Abstract In the framework of development SWGO experiment, we have performed a detailed study single unit an extensive air shower observatory based on array water Cherenkov detectors. Indeed, one possible detector configurations for consists tanks, and to reach high detection efficiency discrimination capability between gamma-ray hadronic showers, different tank designs are under investigation. this study, consider compare double-layer tanks with several sizes, shapes number photo-multiplier tubes (PMTs). Muons, electrons, gamma-rays energies typical secondary particles in showers been simulated entering zenith angles from 0 60 deg. The comparison geometries was evaluated considering photoelectrons produced by PMTs, efficiency, time resolution measurement first photon. We will show that circular hexagonal better performance can be obtained than square ones, it improves smaller as expected.
